Hi, we're Dylan and Alexis! In 2016, we moved to the charming town of Elkin to help Alexis's mom and stepdad open Southern on Main, a restaurant right next door to where we are today.

Though we already had restaurant experience, working at Southern on Main taught us invaluable lessons. Dylan fine-tuned his bartending skills while Alexis fell in love with cooking.

We loved our time there, but we dreamed of building something of our own. In December 2019, we opened Lucky Bake. When the pandemic slowed our progress and we realized bakery life wasn't our calling, we pivoted.

While continuing to work at Southern on Main, we transformed Lucky Bake into what you see today—Embers Eclectic Pub. We finally opened our doors in August 2022 and haven't looked back since.

Starting out, Embers was a bar with limited food—we simply didn't have the budget for a full kitchen. Alexis got creative, using Southern on Main's facilities to prepare what she could. Thanks to a loan from the Small Business Administration, we purchased the building in July 2024 and completed our full kitchen in June 2025.
